| Hey everyone 👋 Long time since I wrote an email. However, we've been busy building new stuff for Flowbite. We have released a major version of Flowbite a couple of days ago and here's a list of things that we introduced:
I'll get into detail about these major points. The next immediate step is to update our pro resources to also reflect these upgrades. However, as we work on that - we will still focus on bringing completely new components to the library and create interesting tools and generators that you can use to speed up your web development time. Let's get into the new themes that we've released. Note: you can easily change them by choosing which one you want to import from the quickstart guide. Modern: the Flowbite classic The layout that you've been used to for almost 5 years since the initial launch of Flowbite is the classic, modern and simple UI that we decided to call modern. It is a versatile collection of colors, spacings, and fonts that is based on the basic principles of web design. Almost 30 million projects have been built via Flowbite using this design and today we've given it a refresh that is ready for 2026. Minimal: keep it simple In 2025 we've seen a new trend arise among web developers and that is one that used very few borders on elements and to delimitate typography and it also doesn't use colors - it bases itself on the gray scale chart. It's very popular among developer tools and by switching the variables that you import in your styles file you can quickly change to this new minimal look. Enterprise: high stakes We wanted to create a theme for the websites that need a serious and trustworthy look. UI for attorneys, clinics, universities, governments, and more. It's the "Trebuchet MS" UI. There's a lot new trends out there, but nothing can beat something that has worked for decades. Playful: web is fun If you have a fun project you're working on the, then playful theme can be a great way to create a very friendly UI that has a great synergy with gradients and especially for websites in gaming and even developer/API docs. Mono: The mono UI is another interesting theme that you can use where the cornerstone of the design is the mono font and the 90 degree border radius around elements which makes it a robust and modern UI that we've seen a lot in the gaming and crypto industry. The thing about these themes is that all the elements from the new v4 docs can very easily be changed just by choosing which variables file you import in the quickstart guide. We tried to introduce as few variables as possible and they're limited to the colors. All other classes remain purely utility classes from Tailwind CSS. You can check the full list of variables here. The other cool thing about this is that if you use the Flowbite Design System then you can very easily update the variables in your project that will reflect the tokens from Figma so you can literally build any styles UI you want. Soon this will apply to all pro components too. As for the future, we're preparing a new platform where you will be able to integrate AI into the workflow by making the design <> code handoff even easier within the Flowbite ecosystem. We hope to launch this as early as possible next year. About "Black Friday" This month November a lot of you have been asking us if we're going to do a Black Friday - the answer is no, as it was for every previous and future years. The reason is very simple: it would be unfair to everyone who has purchased a license for the full price just to discount it now for beneficial sales. We respect every purchase made as it supports our community and the development of Flowbite. For that I thank every each one of you! |
