THIS WEEK, ON THE BLOG:
- 50+ Ideas to Repurpose Thanksgiving Leftovers
- The Ultimate List of Clutter-Free Gifts for All Ages
- Are We Giving to Satisfy Ourselves?
Dave and the kids have off school today and we planned a "do-all-the-things" day.
We're finishing a few smaller home and yard projects, cleaning out the kids' closets, stocking the mudroom with all our winter gear, going out for lunch, cleaning up the garage and outbuilding, ordering Christmas cards, and making a few more goodies for tomorrow (chocolate chip cookies + puppy chow!)
I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating on the eve of Thanksgiving Day -- I am so thankful for each of you!
Whether this is your very first weekly newsletter or you've been here since the beginning, I'm grateful for the gift you've given to me and to my family -- the ability to earn a living doing something I love from the best "office" in the world! 😉
I appreciate every reader, every comment, every social media "share", and every time you come back to let me know how one of my tips or recipes has positively impacted your family and your life.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
simple food. If I had a superpower, it would likely be repurposing leftovers. Thanksgiving leftovers are the best... and I've got more than 50 ideas to help you repurpose them (saving you time and money in the kitchen!)
organized home. When it comes to clutter-free gifts, it's not my first rodeo! Over the years, I've compiled a master list of quality, meaningful, affordable, clutter-free gifts for various ages and occasions... I'm certain you'll find something for everyone on your list this year!
intentional living. As we embark on another holiday season with the best intentions to give generously, I'd love for us to pause and consider the thought processes behind our desire to give. Let's make sure we aren't just "giving to satisfy ourselves"...
In other news...
Monkey Bread: After much debate, we decided that Monkey Bread could be considered a breakfast food as it's basically like cinnamon rolls. We tried this recipe, making the dough from scratch, and it was fantastic. Easier than cinnamon rolls and just as tasty for an upcoming holiday "breakfast".
Bend Soap: I promise not to inundate you with sales and discount codes, however, our family has used Bend Soap for almost a decade and I'm a huge advocate. Not only is it made right here in the U.S.A. by a family-run company, but it's also excellent for anyone with sensitive skin, it smells great, it's affordable, and it's consumable (a.k.a. clutter-free). Plus, they have 20% off site-wide right now (no coupon code needed!) 🎉
Thirteen: It's official, we have a teenager in the house! We enjoyed celebrating Nora's 13th birthday this past weekend... in just a few more years, we'll have a house full of 4 teens!
p.s. Do you have a live or artificial tree?
We're "team artificial" over here. I always thought I'd put up a real tree once I had my own home -- but practicality won out, especially when I found my gorgeous artificial tree for $20 at a thrift store (about 15 years ago)! I'll share pictures next week! 🎄
