Blockchain infrastructure and research firm Flashbots has introduced a decentralized block-building network known as BuilderNet.
According to the team, the Ethereum block-building process is currently dominated by just a handful of builders, who produce over 90% of new blocks.
To mitigate concerns of centralization, Flashbots has proposed the BuilderNet initiative to encourage operators to collaborate on the block-building process on the Ethereum mainnet.
The initiative will kickstart with Flashbots, BeaverBuild, and Nethermind as its founding partners.
The strategy for this partnership involves a multi-operator system where different entities can manage the same block builder.
Additionally, BuilderNet will utilize trusted execution environments (TEE) to create a more secure and fairer environment for MEV arbitragers.
