[Go Make Things] Building a modern web app with vanilla Web Components

Last week, I built a modern pick-a-random-item app using nothing but HTML, CSS, vanilla JS, and Web Components.

This week on my YouTube channel, I continued to build the app out.

This time around I added the ability to remove items from the list or clear the entire thing, and save state from one browsing session to the next. You can watch it here.

One thing you may notice is that I doubled down on storing state in the DOM. It's the simplest way to handle things in a modern app.

Next week, I'll be adding ways to customize the app and load it differently in different places. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you don't want to miss it!

Cheers,
Chris
