New on the Blog: How I reduce decision fatigue and simplify my life. Tomorrow is the big day -- hello 37! 🥳 We spent a fun-filled weekend on a friend's lake, at a Whitecaps baseball game, and finishing up a few more home/yard projects while neighbor kids swam and played with our kids. We're excited to use our pool as temperatures will be in the mid 90's for most of the week. And due to super hot temps, the kids are having slumber parties in the den as the upstairs gets pretty hot. Simple Food. As fresh produce becomes more readily available, I encourage you to add Fruit Pizza to your summer recipe rotation. It's such an easy dessert or snack that looks WAY fancier and more time-consuming than it actually is... plus, everyone loves it (and kids love to help assemble it!) Get my recipe --> Easy Fruit Pizza. Organized Home. If you struggle to donate, trash, or purge anything with a little life left in it -- either because you might use it or you could give it to another person/organization, I encourage you to read this archived post. Let me show you how "deciding once" helps reduce decision fatigue and simplify my home and life! Keep reading --> How I reduce decision fatigue and simplify my life. In other news... Nora went kneeboarding! She generally doesn't like trying new things when lots of people are watching... it took some convincing, but she ended up loving it. Simon got his hat signed by a minor league baseball player. We're still not sure who signed it... but Simon is thrilled! Although I try to stay away from YouTube, I went on a bit of a rabbit trail a few weeks ago when I found the "Getting Dressed" series. It shares how women dressed in different historical periods, starting back in the 7th century. I haven't finished the series, but if you're even mildly interested in history or fashion, you will be hooked! QUICK TIP: Make doctor and dentist appointments for your kids (and yourself) the first week of summer break -- I've been doing this for a few years now and it's so nice to get everything out the way in one week without taking the kids out of school. We had all our appointments last week -- no cavities or any other concerns for our tribe!! A Challenge For You: True wisdom goes beyond amassing knowledge; it is applying that knowledge in a life-changing way. Isn't this super applicable to almost any area of life?! This week, let's all make an effort to stop reading and learning and thinking about making a change and instead APPLY the knowledge we already have in order to change or improve our home, family, or life. Enjoy your week... let me know if you are able to "decide once" and simplify an area of your life. 😁 ~ Andrea |
