Earlier this summer, Joshua Becker from Becoming Minimalist asked if I'd write a guest post... and since our summer days are pretty low-key around here, I said yes. In my post, I shared one of my favorite decluttering tools -- Space Budgets -- and how they help us get organized and KEEP things clutter-free on a daily basis. Simple Summer Recipe: Tomatoes and corn are everywhere in West Michigan -- which means it's time for my favorite Grilled Corn, Tomato, Avocado salad. Yup, it's as good as it looks and sounds -- and it's pretty easy to throw together (you don't even need to grill the corn if you're short on time). Get my recipe in the archives! One Simple Change: Several years ago, I implemented one very simple change to our daily routine... to my surprise, it made a massive difference in the functionality of our home (specifically our kitchen). The Change: I decided that no matter how full the dishwasher was, we would run it every night after dinner (and then clean it out before we went to bed). This meant, I would always start the day will an empty dishwasher and a kitchen full of clean dishes. This small change puts a positive spin on my mornings, which then puts a positive spin on my entire day. Isn't it crazy how one simple change can create a ripple effect? Dave and I (mostly) stay on top of everything, thanks to weekly to-do lists, which are a super simple productivity tool we've utilized for the last several years.
