1. GLP-1 Use Grows, Obesity Rate Declines
|
|
|
The Data: Fifteen percent of U.S. adults report having used a GLP-1 medication for weight loss, up from 6% in 2024. Eleven percent say they are currently taking one, compared with 3% two years ago.
Obesity Trend: The U.S. adult obesity rate has declined to 36.4% in 2026 from its record high of 39.9% in 2022.

2. Citizenship Pathways Win Broad Support
|
|
|
The Data: Eighty-one percent of Americans favor allowing immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children to become U.S. citizens if they meet certain requirements. Seventy-five percent support a similar pathway for other immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
The Split: Support for enforcement proposals is lower. Americans are nearly evenly divided on hiring significantly more Border Patrol agents (49% favor, 48% oppose), while majorities oppose deporting all immigrants living in the U.S. illegally (58%) and banning sanctuary cities (54%).

3. Russia: Record-High Negativity About Economy
|
|
|
The Data: Sixty percent of Russians say economic conditions in their local area are getting worse, the highest reading Gallup has recorded since it began tracking it in 2006. Just 27% say conditions are getting better.
The Trend: This is the first time a majority of Russians have said local economic conditions are getting worse. The previous highs were 45% in 2020 and 50% in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

4. Ukrainian Approval of U.S. Leadership
|
|
|
The Data: A record-low 7% of Ukrainians interviewed in April said they approve of the job performance of U.S. leadership, while 79% disapprove. Approval has fallen nine percentage points since 2025.
The Trend: Approval of U.S. leadership peaked at 66% in 2022, after Russia's full-scale invasion, and then declined each year after that.

5. 1940s: Vitamin Buzz Outpaced Use
|
|
|
The Data: In November 1941, 42% of respondents named vitamin B-1, B or B-2 as a vitamin they had heard a lot about in recent months, while 46% had not heard anything recently about vitamins.
The Follow-Up: Five months later, in April 1942, 23% said they had taken vitamin pills since October, compared with 76% who had not.
