New Report | | | | A new global study from Gallup, launched at the World Governments Summit, draws on responses from adults in 107 countries who were asked to express, in their own words, what they see as their country's most important problem. While concerns vary by country and context, four priorities consistently dominate worldwide: the economy, work and employment, politics and governance, and safety and security. | | | | | | The report finds: - Economic issues top the list globally: A median of 23% of adults name the economy as their country's most important issue.
- Work concerns extend beyond unemployment, with job quality and the lack of good jobs also driving dissatisfaction.
- Political and governance concerns rise where institutional trust is weak, especially in higher-income countries.
- Safety and security eclipse all other priorities in countries affected by conflict or instability.
Together, the findings show that people judge national problems through personal experiences — whether they can afford to live well, find meaningful work, trust their leaders and feel safe. | | | | Stay up to date on our latest global analytics research: Sign up to get our reports, data and insights sent straight to your inbox as soon as they're available. | | |
