How long do you expect your kitchen blender to last? And what happens when it inevitably blends its last smoothie? We tore down three different blenders: one from Walmart's white-label brand, Mainstay; an entry-level SharkNinja; and an open-source challenger, the Open Funk reMix.

Verizon to Stop Automatic Unlocking of Phones as FCC Ends 60-Day Unlock Rule

Despite efforts to oppose the petition (which we took part in), the FCC has waived Verizon's long-standing requirement to automatically unlock phones 60 days after activation, allowing the carrier to follow more lenient industry guidelines instead. According to Verizon, this change is aimed at reducing fraud. Conveniently for them, this will make it harder for some customers to switch carriers quickly.

Tokyo Firm R&R Rolls Out Right to Repair Platform for Consumers

Tokyo-based company R&R has launched monomane, a digital app that helps consumers track their possessions, manage warranties, and easily request repairs for items like phones and appliances, while aligning with recent EU Right to Repair rules.
