We're pretty excited this month thanks to the launch of our latest innovation: the MailerSend MCP server. We've got all the details below, plus our usual content and resource shares. 👇
- MailerSend MCP: Turn your AI tool into a smart email engine
- This month's updates
- Guide to email headers
- Inbound routing: Creating interactive experiences with email
| | | | | You can now connect your MailerSend account with AI tools! The new MailerSend MCP server gives the connected LLM or IDE access to real-time data so you can use natural language prompts to perform tasks and fetch information. No need to visit the app or make manual API calls.
What is the MailerSend MCP and how does it work? MCP stands for Model Context Protocols—a standardized framework that lets AI models communicate with external tools and data sources. The MailerSend MCP is kind of like a bridge between your account and AI tool, allowing the AI to work with the most current data available for more accurate output.
OK, here's the cool part. What can you do with it? There are 38 tools available that define the capabilities that the MCP offers. These allow you to do everything from managing domains, webhooks, and templates, to accessing activity and analytics, sending emails, and performing email verification checks. Here are a few things you could ask: - "Show me how many emails bounced in August. Categorize them by template."
- "Add [URL] as a new sending domain and give me the DNS records."
- "What's the average delivery time for account verification emails?"
- "Add a webhook that triggers on failed delivery to alert our support team."
- "Schedule a maintenance notification email to all users using the 'scheduled-maintenance' template."
| | | | How to connect the MCP The MCP currently works with a select number of AI platforms that support them: Claude, Cursor and VSCode. We've made it super easy to connect: all you need to do is add the MCP URL or click on the installation link (depending on the AI tool).
You can find out more about how the MCP works, examples of how to use it, and a step-by-step guide of how to set it up for each tool by hitting the button below. | | | - We've updated to Firebase v2, and the Node.js version in the package. Plus, we added new data points: In-Reply-To, List-Unsubscribe and Precedence-Bulk
Custom headers have been updated to allow the use of underscores to help where systems hard-code them in. We've completed the new dev guide on email attachments. Give it a read, and while you're at it, check out our other dev guides Important support update: We're migrating to a new support platform, so Starter plans and above will see a brand new help beacon. This new live chat will connect you with Javi, our highly trained AI support agent. Javi is being introduced to help you get in-depth answers to your queries even faster, and you can still request to speak to a human agent at any time. Free users will still have access to email support via the website. | | | - Starter plans and above will soon be able to access additional information about bounces, specifically when the status is first reported as received, and then more information is provided later by the mailbox provider. Fancy testing it out? Contact our support team if you'd like to beta test this feature.
| | | | | Email headers provide information about the message or communication in the form of metadata. Some of these are crucial for delivery as they're used to track the email's journey, authenticate the sender, and detect phishing and spoofing attempts. Other headers can be used to enhance the email experience or pass any data you'd like, for example, custom tracking IDs, message priority, or support department etc. And another crucial use for email headers? They can help you troubleshoot email delivery issues. Check out our new guide on email headers to learn more about the different types of headers, plus some ways you can customize them to improve your transactional emails and optimize your workflows. | | | | | Inbound email processing can do more than simply forward an email to another address. It allows you to create routes or pipelines to process incoming email messages, parse the content, and integrate it into your apps or CRMs, trigger a webhook event, and provide email-based interaction for the user. There are tons of ways you can use inbound routing, from automating bug report ticket creation or enabling email replies for posting comments, to in-app chat and managing sensitive documents. Head to our guide on inbound routing to learn more about the ways you can use it to optimize your workflows, maintain privacy, and improve the user experience. | | | | | Heard about our new nonprofit discount?
