- 50 No-Brainer Items You Can Declutter Today!
- How my home and family benefit from my early morning routine.
The kids are headed to their first day of school today (Dave started Monday already), so it's just me and Buster again.
The last couple of days have felt somewhat hectic with all the last-minute things to wrap up before school starts -- plus, it's "fair week," so we had to squeeze in an afternoon of rides before school started (Nora went with friends this year 🥲).
But now, I get a few hours home alone for the first time since May!
If you need me, I'll be listening to my backlog of podcasts while tackling my to-do list with minimal interruptions and eating lunch in peace and quiet!
This week on the blog, I'm sharing one of our favorite school lunch treats, 50 easy-to-declutter things you can probably pound out today, and a little motivation to jump back into an earlier morning routine (I need it as much as you do right now).
I hope these goodies, tips, and ideas help your back-to-school transition go as smoothly as possible!
simple food. Looking for a new recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth? Try these Oreo Cookie Blondies. They're easier than cookies, they freeze well, they're great for school lunches, and everyone loves them!
organized home. Tackling your next clutter hot spot can feel overwhelming… Instead of dwelling on that feeling, take action by decluttering a few no-brainer items today and shift your momentum in the right direction!
intentional living. After 3 years of 5:30/6:00 weekday alarms, Dave and I have decided that this school year might be a year of 4:15/4:30 alarms again. If you need motivation to better utilize your morning hours, this archived post from 2020 shares how/why my early morning routine positively affects my home, family, and life!
A Note on Food Storage Containers ☺️
Thanks to all of you who weighed in on last week's question about plastic or glass food storage containers. I'm not sure why I felt the need to choose one over the other when I could just buy some of both (as many of you suggested!)
Our food storage drawer is now cleaned, reorganized, and upgraded with a set of 10 glass containers and 20 plastic containers (including 4 tiny dip containers that will be great for school lunches).
This is plenty for our family, and it still all fits nicely in the designated drawer. We can use the glass containers for foods that need to be reheated, while using the plastic containers for things like fresh fruits and veggies or school lunches. 👍🏻
