Ripple Labs, the creators behind XRP, is launching its RLUSD stablecoin later today.
Similar to other stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, RLUSD is a dollar-pegged stablecoin backed by US dollar deposits, short-term US Treasury bonds, and other USD-denominated assets.
According to Ripple's latest press release, the new USD-backed stablecoin will be available for trading across major crypto platforms, including Uphold and Moonpay.
The token will also be listed on crypto exchanges such as Bitstamp and Mercado Bitcoin in the near future.
The company has also started plans to integrate RLUSD into its Ripple Payments network in 2025.

In a recently published blog post, the decision was made due to requests from Lido DAO holders and a community vote in which 99% of voters approved the proposal to exit Polygon. As such, holders of Lido's stMATIC token will stop earning rewards once the sunsetting process begins.
