BTS Freight Data Newsletter

As Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) looks forward to 2025, we are excited to announce the following freight data products for release.

January 2025: (Experimental) County-Level Freight Analysis Framework (FAF) Flows
January 2025: (Experimental) FAF Multimodal Network Flow Map
2022 Commodity Flow Survey (CFS) Data Release
- May 2025 – CFS estimates released (Aggregated estimates at the national, state, and metropolitan area geographies.)
- July 2025 – CFS Public Use File (PUF) released (Disaggregated, shipment-level data, best for custom tabulations.)
- August 2025 – CFS Subarea File released (Local level estimates (lower than metropolitan area).
- September 2025 – CFS Print Report released (PDF document with pre-made, select tables.)
