Trump Crypto Empire?
Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is reportedly in advanced talks to acquire crypto platform Bakkt in an all-stock deal.
TMTG boasts an equity valuation of $7 billion, while Bakkt's stood at just over $400 million (having risen 162% after news of the talks broke). Bakkt's trading infrastructure reportedly aligns with TMTG's expansion goals. If the acquisition goes through, TMTG could integrate crypto services into its ecosystem, boosting its media and financial ventures.
Talks of the acquisition come after Donald Trump promoted World Liberty Financial, a DeFi lending and borrowing platform with ties to the Trump family.

Bakkt was set up by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) back in 2018 to much fanfare in the crypto community and was created to facilitate crypto trading. ICE also owns the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), but this was not enough to boost its usage. It went on to introduce a digital wallet in 2021, but was shortly discontinued in 2023. Give ME some 💰 The ME Foundation has announced its much-anticipated ME token airdrop. 12.5% of the supply will be airdropped to reward Magic Eden users across its multi-chain NFT platform.
125 million ME tokens will be airdropped on Solana, which is currently valued at $362.5 million based on the current pre-market price of $2.9 at Whales Pro. A further 225 million ME tokens have been earmarked for future airdrops to active users of Magic Eden's products.
