| NEW ON THE BLOG: - Delicious Apple Cake
- Our DIY Growth Chart
- The Oil Cleansing Method
Last week, I challenged you to take a short break every day (preferably outside in the sun)... and I did it too! It's been unseasonably hot around here, so I stayed in the shade, but I forced myself to stop what I was doing at some point each afternoon and sit outside for at least 15 minutes (yard work and walking the dog didn't count). Often, I read or listened to a book/podcast, but there were days when I just laid on our outdoor couch and enjoyed doing nothing for a few minutes in the middle of the day (a luxury I didn't have a couple of years ago!) If you're home with little kids, take them outside and enjoy the fresh air together... not as relaxing, but still beneficial for all. Happy (almost) Fall! 🍂 simple food. Apple cake with crunchy oat topping and cinnamon whipped cream is a fantastic combo for any Fall breakfast, brunch, or dessert. My recipe calls for whole grain flour, but it works well with all-purpose too. Our family loves this easy cake and I hope yours will too! | | | organized home. One of my favorite DIY projects to date is the Growth Chart I made when Nora was a baby. We all love looking back at how much everyone has grown over the years. Let me show you how to make this fun keepsake project you and your family will enjoy for years to come! | | | intentional living. Dave and I have "washed" our faces with oil for 14 years now... yes, I know how crazy that sounds! If you're looking for a quick, easy, frugal, natural skincare routine that uses pantry ingredients and works on dry and oily skin, give the Oil Cleansing Method a try! | | | In other news... 2 Great War Books: War story novels are my favorite... and I'm almost finished with 2 of them. I'm currently reading Eye of Glory (Civil War) and listening to The Paris Housekeeper (WWII). Both are excellent if you're looking for a new book to pick up. Our Meal Plan - Pulled pork, cheesy potatoes, broc/caul, fruit
