Decentralized stablecoin issuer Maker has rebranded to Sky, along with changing the name of its primary DAI stablecoin to USDS.
The platform has also introduced its new native governance token, SKY, which it claims to be an improved version of the existing MKR token.
Users will be able to convert each MKR token for 24,000 SKY and convert their DAI holdings directly into USDS at a 1:1 ratio.
However, it's not all smooth-sailing as the project has come under fire for introducing a freeze function into its new stablecoin. Since the rebranding was announced, the price of MKR rose by 3.8% from $2,086 to $2,150, but it has since fallen to $1,920, in line with the overall market. | | | Learn about the most common mistakes that can negatively affect your trading journey and how to avoid them! | | | More trouble for TON ⚠️ The TON blockchain is back online after suffering a 6-hour outage earlier today.
The outage was caused by a surge in traffic on the network due to the recent airdrop of DOGS tokens.
Based on an announcement by the TON team on X, validators were also unable to remove old transactions, causing them to overload and lose consensus.
As such, exchanges such as Bybit were forced to temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals on TON.
According to the co-founder of Trading Protocol, Mikko Ohtamaa, the network was only able to reach a maximum of 280 transactions per second before the outage occurred, far lower than its purported maximum TPS of 55,000. | | | What is io.net?
