Our family had a great holiday week -- we took the kids to watch fireworks for the first time ever (the younger two complained of how tired they were before the show started!)
I got all caught up on my digital photo books (I was a month or so behind since summer started).
And Dave and I joined a "Bad Bowler's League"... our first 3 games lived up to the league name. We were surprisingly sore the next day! 😂
As I mentioned last week, I'm on a "summer blogging break" through the end of August, but I will continue to share a few updates and archived posts via my weekly emails.
Enjoy! 💕
Simple Food.
This layered lettuce salad is THE BEST summer salad (or really any-time-of-year-salad)! You can prepare it ahead of time as the dressing will not make the lettuce soggy, everyone loves it, and the leftovers stay fresh for days in the fridge.
If you're a thrift store shopper like I am, you'll likely want to clean everything VERY well when you get home. Some of those bigger items can be tricky -- here's how I clean bulky thrift items (this method works on strollers, bike carriers, patio furniture, etc.)
A few years ago, I decided I didn't want to worry about rising grocery prices and/or how much I was spending on groceries each week. Instead, I chose other areas to save and gave myself much more wiggle room in the grocery department. This decision has been so positive for me and our family -- it might be something to consider if you're tired of stressing about your grocery budget.
