$52M in 25 years? 📈 Do you believe that the price of Bitcoin can reach more than halfway to 9-figures by 2025?
Well, in the most optimal situation, VanEck certainly thinks so, according to their latest valuation report on the world's largest cryptocurrency.
As written by Matthew Sigel and Patrick Bush both of them believe that Bitcoin will be widely used as a medium of exchange for international settlements, potentially controlling as much as 10% of cross-border payments and 5% of domestic trades.
The two analysts also predict that as Bitcoin's utility continues to grow, its attractiveness as an asset class will attract greater demand from central banks and investors, fueling the next leg of further appreciation.
According to their base case predictions, the duo expects BTC to trade around $2.9M by 2050, while in the most bullish scenario, prices could skyrocket to over $52M.
On the other hand, a bearish situation would see Bitcoin's price at just $130K by 2050, roughly double its current value.
Editor's Note: Making seemingly crazy predictions is not something new for VanEck, given their recent report on Solana. However, it's important to understand that the timeframe that they are working with spans over multiple cycles. If the situations that they've predicted actually come to pass, it offers a fairly decent frame of reference as to whether BTC has performed with respect to its fundamentals. |

Jito joins the restaking race 🏎️ Solana-based staking platform Jito has released open-source code for the first restaking program on the network.
The code will essentially allow any protocol to build its own restaking service to provide economic security to other chains or applications.
However, unlike the mechanism adopted by EigenLayer, where only certain tokens such as ETH and ETH LSTs can be used for restaking, Jito will support any collateral type.
Furthermore, users will be able to set their own parameters for staking and slashing multiple token types, as well as easily create liquid restaking tokens. |
