Last year, I wrote about how all web browsers kind of suck. Every single one has turned into an AI-and-ad-driven piece of garbage. Amazing garbage that does incredible things. But still garbage. In my article, I wrote… Vivaldi is alright, I guess, but made some weird UI updates just for the hell of it? Last week, I decided to give Vivaldi another look, and… those UI issues are gone. I turned off a bunch of stuff (like the status bar and panel), and now it's basically just Chrome but without the ads, tracking, or AI bullshit. You can still install stuff from the Chrome Web Store (unlike the ungoogled chrome browser), and it has a company of maintainers behind it so I'm not worried it will wither on the vine. The only other update I made is to swap out the logo in my dock from the hideous red V to a cute little whale icon used by the Naver Whale browser. This is my new daily browser.
