Our town had a hot air balloon festival on the first night of summer, and thanks to a slight breeze, every balloon floated RIGHT over our yard -- it was super cool!
A couple of the balloons were so low they almost touched our trees (I included more pictures below.)
We also hosted a church picnic/pool party on the most gorgeous, perfectly sunny, mild-heat, non-humid Sunday afternoon/evening. We truly couldn't have asked for better weather.
Every summer (and every Christmas break) the kids know we will declutter clothes, toys, games, books, and crafts for up to 30 minutes each morning for 5 days (one group each day). They don't love it... but it goes SO fast because of these 5 questions -- then they're done and get a reward!
It's been 5 years since I shared our mealtime reading "trick" and even with much older kids, we all still enjoy reading after meals. Plus every book we read together helps the kids towards their library Summer Reading Prizes! (We're working through a stack of Boxcar Children books this summer.)
The boys have football camp, my friend Laura is visiting again (so we're spoiled with lots of Irish treats), I'm helping another friend organize her pantry tomorrow, and Dave + my anniversary is on Sunday -- another lovely low-key week of summer break!
Have any of you tried these Irish goodies?
A few more hot air balloon pictures: It really was very cool -- the kids were shouting "hello" up to the people in the balloon baskets.
I have lots of fun Favorite Things to share with you again next week... but until then, what will you declutter first!?!
