Join the future of trading with PaalX. | | | Old protocols, new chains ⛓️ Two of the largest and oldest protocols on Ethereum are getting their own chains soon. The Ethereum Naming Service (ENS) has recently proposed its ENSv2 upgrade, which will include a migration to its own Layer-2 network.
If the proposal is approved, ENS users will enjoy reduced transaction fees and added functionalities for subdomain management and resolver configurations.
While there have been discussions about using zero-knowledge rollups. the protocol has not made a firm decision on which stack to use for its Layer-2 expansion.
Also joining the Layer-2 movement is the DeFi lending protocol Aave, which recently outlined its V4 upgrade earlier this month.
According to Stani Kuchelov, CEO of Aave Labs, the platform plans to launch its own L2, 'Aave Network,' shortly after the upgrade is implemented.
Since these announcements, the native tokens of both protocols, ENS and AAVE, temporarily spiked but have fallen by 9% and 6%, respectively. Editor's Note: With the release of EIP-4844, fees on L2s are now so much cheaper, motivating more projects to move toward their own appchains to promote further scalability. ENS and Aave are not the first to do this, and they definitely won't be the last, as we expect more Ethereum-based projects to begin rolling out their L2s in the near future. This will inevitably result in greater competition between existing L2 stack providers, which should push them to provide better features for users and developers of the Ethereum ecosystem as a whole. | | | Ever wondered how blockchain games work? Tapos claims to have attracted over 63,000 users who submitted 323M transactions over a period of three days when the game was live.
