New Report | | | The World Happiness Report 2024 provides the data the world needs to satisfy its growing global interest in prioritizing happiness and wellbeing in government policymaking and scholarly research. Since 2006 to 2010, happiness inequality has increased in almost every region except Western Europe. The numbers tell the story of why it's important to measure happiness worldwide. | | | | | | At the global level, averaged across all ages and regions, inequality of happiness has increased by more than 20% over the past dozen years. | | | | | | | Among those born after 1980, happiness falls with each year of age. Among those born before 1965, life evaluations rise with age. | | | | | | | On a 10-point scale, Finland's average life evaluation ranks it as the happiest country in the world. Afghanistan ranks as the least happy country in the world with a life evaluation of 1.721. | | | | | | From generational happiness trends, child and adolescent wellbeing to policymaking for an aging global population, the World Happiness Report 2024 assesses the state of happiness during different life stages and illuminates inequalities in happiness on an individual and national scale.
