Grayscale, a crypto asset manager, filed an amended S-3 form with the U.S. securities regulator on the same day its parent company's CEO, Barry Silbert, announced his resignation from Grayscale's board of directors.

Some crypto market analysts speculate that Silbert's departure might enhance Grayscale's prospects of converting its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) into a spot Bitcoin ETF, currently pending a decision from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

It's Payback Time!

Nearly a decade after the hack, the Mt. Gox crypto exchange seems to have begun reimbursing customers who lost 850,000 bitcoins, now valued at around $36 billion.

Reports from participants in the mtgoxinsolvency subreddit group suggest that some have received payouts in yen through PayPal.

Others who opted for cash deposits into their bank accounts have not reported any incoming funds yet.

Metis Makes A Comeback

The native cryptocurrency of the Layer-2 network Metis experienced a surge of up to 50% over the past 24 hours, albeit retracing some gains, following heightened attention in crypto circles regarding a previously announced grant.

The grant, unveiled by the MetisDAO Foundation earlier this month, allocated 4.6 million METIS to the Ecosystem Development Fund.

This fund aims to foster development, enhance liquidity, stimulate activity, and drive adoption within the Metis ecosystem.

Stolen Thunder

The on-chain trading platform Thunder Terminal faced an exploit today, resulting in the transfer of 86.5 ETH (approximately $192,000) to Railgun, as reported by on-chain investigator ZachXBT in his Telegram channel.

Thunder reassured users in a recent post on X that no private keys were compromised.

Earlier statements from Thunder had initially indicated that funds were secure and mentioned upcoming refunds.
