On The Blog: The difference between decluttering and organizing. The other day, as I was doing laundry, I realized that I really like being in my little laundry room! I walk past the door dozens of times every day on my way in and out of the kitchen and mudroom... and I truly just love this super-functional space and all the sunlight that pours in during the day. The colors and simple decor help this space feel cohesive with the rest of our farmhouse; keeping it decluttered allows the small space to feel bigger than it actually is. Of course, we want our homes to be inviting for guests and cozy for our family... but I think it's also worthwhile to consider how we feel even as we're working in our homes. Laundry isn't my favorite household task, but it's a lot nicer when the space is neat, organized, and pretty. 🥰 Simple Food. I don't always love snow... but I do love the first few snows when it's perfectly white and all the ugly brown foliage and dead grass are covered. Our "Toddler Tree": Buster is ALL over the Christmas tree ornaments, so we reverted back to what I called our "toddler tree" -- where we put all the ornaments higher than the child (or puppy) can reach.
