| To maintain effective safety training for the industry, FTA published proposed updates to the Public Transportation Safety Certification Training Program (PTSCTP) regulation in the Federal Register to streamline processes and clarify requirements. The public will have until December 26, 2023, to submit comments on the proposed changes. The proposed updates will refine the PTSCTP communication process, add administrative requirements and clarify voluntary PTSCTP participation and refresher training requirements. The rule maintains the existing minimum training requirements for State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA) and rail transit safety personnel. FTA also seeks comments on whether mandatory PTSCTP participation should extend to bus transit agencies and personnel. FTA hosted a webinar on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, that reviewed the PTSCTP NPRM proposed changes, timeline, where to submit comments and included a question and answer period. The webinar recording and presentation are now available. | | | | |
