NEW! On The Blog: Practical tips for organized vehicles (with kids!) We're fully immersed into our new school + church + extra-curricular routine (which I love) and most of our days feel very ordinary -- in a good way. My friend Laura recently shared this lovely "doodle" with me and I knew I had to share it with you too! One of my oldest online friends (going back at least 13 years now) is Sarah from Memories on Clover Lane. We both love being home, living simply, staying away from social media, and enjoying ordinary days. Sarah has a lot on her plate right now, so I know she meant it when she recently wrote, "...ordinary days are the best ever. Ordinary days are the most beautiful days on earth." If you're smack in the middle of a hectic, stressful, emotional, tiring, trying, and/or busy season of life, I pray you have just enough "ordinary days" (or even ordinary moments) sprinkled in to make life feel manageable and enjoyable. 🥰 Don't forget to look for those days and moments though -- sometimes they pass by before you realize it. Simple Food. We are a snack-loving family (salty, sweet, sour, savory, etc.) but I always try to serve up fresh produce with our snacks too. If you'd like a few practical tips to integrate more fruits and veggies into your family's snacks, I've got you covered. Get the tips --> Healthier Produce-Packed Snacks Organized Home. I love a neat and organized home... AND a neat and organized vehicle. After all, who wants to drive around in a dirty, messy, car? I'm sharing more on the often-requested topic of vehicle organization this week (side note: Stow 'n Go seating is THE BEST!) 😂 Learn more --> Practical tips for neat and clean vehicles (with kids!) Intentional Living. As we enter the final "quarter" of 2023, I figured it's a great time to re-share the SUPER simple tool I created (back in college) to help manage and track my savings and spending. I still use this simple workbook every week and I know thousands of readers have benefited from it over the years. It's completely free and customizable, and I'd just love it if you gave it a try in 2024! 😊 Keep reading --> A simple way to track savings and spending. In other news... Clara is 6: We celebrated with grandparents on Saturday, and her actual birthday was Monday. She was SO excited to pull the last link off her countdown chain and help make her ice cream cake -- such a cutie! Dinner Idea: It's been a long time since I made Tatertot Casserole, and last night was the night! I have 2 versions published on my blog -- the traditional version I grew up with, and the healthified from-scratch version I make now. Both are totally doable for an easy weeknight meal. Buster is an "it": Buster was neutered last week and spent a couple of days with the dreaded cone. He bounced back to normal on day 4 and seems to have recovered wonderfully. Poor pup! Cure for the Common Life: Speaking of "ordinary days" if you ever wonder how to use your unique gifts and talents or feel your days lack meaningful work, I encourage you to read Cure for the Common Life. I'm re-reading it now! That's all for this week. I'll be back next week with my favorite things. In the meantime... I hope you enjoy a few ordinary days! ~ Andrea p.s. I'm in the market for comfortable, cute, and supportive slip-on shoes to wear around the house -- let me know if you have any recommendations.👟 |
