4. Cannabis and the Toke Toll on Wellness

As legal access to marijuana increases across the United States, concerns have been raised about the impact that today's evermore-potent strains might have on the developmental health of young adults. Indeed, three-quarters of Americans say they are concerned about teen use, including 40% who are very concerned. That's about double the rate who are very concerned about adult use.

The new legal and cultural landscape around marijuana is forcing workplaces to refine policies on employees' use of marijuana at workplace social events as well as in their private lives. An average of 18% of U.S. workers in 2022-2023 say they smoke marijuana, including a third of workers aged 18 to 34.
