Mihailo Bjelic, co-founder of Polygon, has proposed upgrading the existing Polygon proof of stake (POS) network to a "zkEVM Validium" version aimed at bolstering security within the Polygon ecosystem.

Bjelic envisions a future where Polygon zkEVM could be utilized for high-value transactions, prioritizing security. On the other hand, Polygon zkEVM Validium would cater to gaming and social media enthusiasts, providing a network with lower transaction fees than Polygon zkEVM.
