New On The Blog: Easy Country Style Spare Ribs The weather was warmer over the weekend so I officially did my first yard work of 2023 (picking up the bazillion sticks and branches that fell over the winter). And we ate lots of cheesecake for a certain someone's birthday (more on that below). Simple Food. I shared one of my all-time favorite pork recipes back in 2012 (when we were in the thick of our kitchen renovation)... Country-Style Spare Ribs. After making it again a couple of weeks ago, I decided it was officially time to update the blog post and the decade-old photos. I hope you LOVE this easy, frugal recipe as much as my family does! He requested chocolate peanut butter cheesecake and I made a version of this recipe -- it was really good! 🟠 New First: Nora played in her first volleyball match. She generally has no interest in sports, but volleyball was/is my favorite and she's SO tall that I encouraged her. She was willing to try the two-month program, and she's already looking forward to her next match! 🟠 Last Firsts: Clara lost her first tooth! 🦷 She wiggled it for DAYS before it finally came out just before bedtime! As we put her tooth in our favorite tooth pillow (a gift from a reader back when Nora lost her first tooth), I realized this would be our family's last time to get excited about a first lost tooth. I'm sure we'll have lots of "last firsts" with miss Clara Jo. 🥰 🟠 Piano Man! After teaching himself how to play the piano this past fall, we decided to let him take Nora's piano lesson slot while she's involved in volleyball. He loves it, and he's the only child I never need to remind to practice. 🟠 Simon Says :: "So... basically you're telling us to lie?" Dave and I almost died laughing when Nora explained the really fun card game she learned at school called... "I Don't Believe You" (also known as B.S. 😂) Simon has zero ability to lie, so he never wins. That's all for this week. Next week I hope to share more about my new-to-me planner/calendar/to-do lists system that so many of you have asked about! Andrea p.s. I'd love to know if you try my pork recipe, and what you think of it! p.p.s. Spring Break countdown = 22 days 😎 |
