New On The Blog: How to find the best storage solutions for your needs. Our family enjoyed a lovely 4-day weekend for Winter Break. We stuck around home and packed in a lot of fun. Now the kids are officially counting down to Spring Break (35 days 😉) We each filled up one bag of clothing and then a couple plastic bags with toys, games, books, decorations, etc. We donated a total of 7 bags and shopped the fill-a-bag-for-$10 sale... returning home again with just 1 bag of new-to-us goodies. Our closets all have a little extra breathing room... and everyone has a few new items of clothing! Simple Food. As we inch closer and closer to spring, I find myself craving more salads, which means I'm buying more lettuce and spinach. Years ago, I stumbled upon one super simple tip that greatly extended the life of my salad greens... I've been using it ever since! Try my recipe --> How to Keep Lettuce Fresh Longer Organized Home. Do you tire of staring at the same clutter hot spots day after day? I suppose that means gas prices are coming down a bit... but wow are grocery prices skyrocketing! Here's the blog post where I share more about this fun hair tool. A Reminder (for myself too): you can often save a lot of time and money by simply turning a device off and letting it sit for a few minutes. Just last week I successfully "fixed" a problem with our furnace by turning it off, waiting a minute, and turning it back on again. And we solved a weird issue with Nora's FitBit by doing the same thing. More about this simple fix here! Simon's current bedtime reading! 😂 🟠 Activity of the Week = Moving bedroom furniture around (again)! The kids love doing this and so do I because I can clean really well behind the furniture. 🟠 Movie Of The Week = The Sandlot. Some bad "language", but fun for Dave and me to rewatch, and the kids loved it! 🟠 Game Of The Week = Guess Who? A Hot Tub?? Dave and I are interested in a hot tub. We wanted the pool first though, and now that we're 99% sure where we'd put the hot tub in relationship to the pool area, we're shopping around. We'd love to hear some "pros" and "cons" of owning a hot tub (especially from those of you in the midwest). Keep in mind we're home A LOT so we'd be able to use it quite regularly. Also, I'm always cold! 😊 That's all for this week - I'll be back next week/month with more Favorite Things! Andrea |
