Short on time? Read: 6 immediate benefits of getting more organized. We had a low-key but fun weekend with a mix of Super Bowl festivities, Valentine's Day treats, and a massive "Thanksgiving dinner" (I used up a turkey in the freezer!) Along with other more nutritious foods, we enjoyed pumpkin pie, double fudge brownie sundaes, pink Rice Krispie Treats, candy hearts, red heart-shaped finger Jell-O, and Little Debbie fudge hearts (always a HUGE treat for our kids). Did you do anything fun? Simple Food. It's difficult for me to choose a "favorite soup"... but if I was forced to decide, Sausage and Cheese Tortellini Soup would be at the very top of my list. I'm making it for dinner tomorrow night (with fresh rolls and fruit salad). It will be simmering in the slow cooker when we return home from the kids' parent-teacher conferences... I'm already drooling! Try my recipe --> Sausage + Cheese Tortellini Soup Organized Home. Don't underestimate the power a happy, peaceful home can have on your family, your community, and even the world. Keep reading --> How to cultivate a more peaceful home + world. In other news... We let the boys stay up to watch the first half of the Super Bowl on Sunday -- they were thrilled (Nora read her book!) I didn't grow up with brothers, and although I played sports, I've never been interested in watching them (on TV or live) so it's interesting for me to notice how our boys almost instinctively gravitate towards watching, playing, and talking about sports even though we've never put much emphasis on sports in our home (Dave rarely watches sports while the kids are awake). Speaking of the Super Bowl, my favorite commercial was Toyota's "Keeping Up With the Joneses" -- I thought it was clever! Our family is excited to celebrate 2-22-22 next week "Twosday". 🤗 I'm not totally sure what we're going to do yet -- got any fun ideas? Want free audiobooks? Dave and the kids enjoyed a snow day last Friday (the best possible day for a snow day!) and since it was super sloppy, wet snow, we stayed inside all day. The kids build a giant town out of LEGOs -- Dave was so proud! Here's how we store our LEGOs. That's all for this week. I'd love to know... what are your favorite benefits of getting more organized? Have a great week, Andrea |
