stgt.xtgem.com -- Last week, my teammate Kyle sent you some information about match campaigns and how to discern their legitimacy (forwarded below). I hope this information was useful!
Like the nonprofits we rate, we depend on the generosity of others to fund our programs. Right now, we're running a special initiative where you can fund a match for Charity Navigator, inspiring others to support our mission and, ultimately, doubling your impact on our ratings and resources.
Time is running out for us to reach our ambitious $90,000 goal before the end of the month. Last I checked, we are still $42,000 away.
A gift of any amount will truly make a difference for the millions of donors that depend on us to inform their giving, and, most importantly, those who benefit from the critical programs at the nonprofits we evaluate.
Sincerely,
Kevin
P.S. If you'd rather donate via mail, kindly send your check made payable to "Charity Navigator" to Charity Navigator, P.O. Box 4009, Harlan, IA 51593. Gifts postmarked by September 30 will be counted, but you must reply directly to this email noting the amount of your gift, so we may immediately add it to our campaign progress total.
All gifts received through our Matching Fund Initiative emails by the deadline of 11:59:59 PM EDT, September 30, 2021, qualify for this Match Fund offer. Charity Navigator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, excluding the match grant amount, and is in support of Charity Navigator, not another charity listed on our website.

stgt.xtgem.com -- As the world's most trusted nonprofit evaluator, we field many questions from people about donating -- often about match campaigns, since they can seem too good to be true. For a quick refresher, match campaigns are when your donation unlocks a portion of the match funder's gift, multiplying your gift.
So, how can you tell whether or not a campaign is real before you support it? When you receive an appeal asking for your support of a match, it should have clear information about what the match total is, where the gift came from (e.g., board of directors, anonymous donor, corporation, etc.), and when the match expires. We encourage you to reach out to the charity conducting the match and ask if they conduct independent, annual audits and if documentation of their match campaigns is reviewed by their auditors. The answer you're looking for is a resounding yes, which you can confirm via the 'Audited Financials Prepared by Independent Accountant' metric included in their Charity Navigator rating.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I personally compiled documentation for our team of independent auditors, proofing and validating all of our match campaigns conducted in our last fiscal year, as this is an annual practice of ours.
A gift of any amount will help us achieve our goal of $90,000 before the month ends, making a tremendous impact on our small but mighty team and the ratings and resources we produce.
Warmly,
Kyle
