Short on Time? Head to the blog to read how to Simplify Your Closet with 6 Questions! I love the feeling when seasons start to transition and excitement for a new routine begins to form. That's where I'm at right now... as a type-A, schedule-loving, teacher's wife and mother of 4 school-age children, this feeling hits me every August. I'm savoring the last few days of our non-schedule summer -- soaking up the sunshine and sitting poolside. I'm staying up too late and sleeping in because I can. I'm facilitating play dates and Domino tournaments. I'm picking baskets of flowers and tomatoes. But the anticipation for a more scheduled rhythm and routine is growing each day! I'm looking forward to another year of work and school, church and community. I'm making spreadsheets... always more spreadsheets! I'm dreaming about the perfect daily and weekly schedule. And I'm expectant for all that God has in store as we trust and hope in Him. Tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way right now!? π₯° NEW on the Blog: --> Simplify Your Closet with 6 Questions Several years ago, my perspective on clothing completely changed, thanks to 6 simple questions. As a result, I purged a massive amount of clothing (over 75%!) and now enjoy owning only the items I like, items I feel great in, and items that fit my season of life. Dave and I currently share the tiniest closet in our home and we still have empty shelves and hangers! If you'd like a little more breathing room in your closet and a wardrobe you actually want to wear, check out the questions that helped me downsize in this week's post! FROM THE ARCHIVES! Simple Summer Recipe: BLT sandwiches... with peanut butter? Yup, it's a family favorite of mine for as long as I can remember (I think Dave has finally come around to enjoy this tasty seasonal treat as well.) Want the recipe? I've got it for you in the archives! Simple Decluttering Thoughts: As you seek to declutter your closets, bedrooms, and eventually your entire home, I encourage you to think more about if your spaces serve you and your family, and less about what you see in your favorite magazines or on your favorites Instagram accounts. I wrote on this concept a few years ago -- and since that post, we've rearranged almost every space in our home as our children have grown and our needs have changed. I can speak from much experience that your home will FEEL less cluttered and more inviting if your spaces serve you, your family, and your current needs (you can always change things later!) READ: Do Your Spaces Serve YOU? Simple Living in the World: Simple Living is a VERY popular topic these days -- significantly more-so than when I started blogging years ago. And with the popularity has come unreasonable standards that, in my opinion, actually make life LESS simple! I've consciously made many "unpopular" and "non-trendy" choices over the years in an effort to simplify my life, my home, and my schedule... I'm so glad I did! Don't let yourself become a victim of what you think is popular, even if it doesn't work for you -- I give several examples inside the post that might get you thinking. READ: When Simple Isn't Popular Hopefully that gives you enough to read (and do) until next week. Feel free to send me before/after pics of your closets if you test out the 6 questions! ~ Andrea |
