ENGAGED & THRIVING Institutions: THE STRENGTHS-BASED APPROACH | What does strengths in education look like in action? As the 2021 winners of the Don Clifton Strengths for Students Award, Georgia State University and Villanova University represent the widespread impact of using CliftonStrengths for Students as a tool to drive engagement and wellbeing for students, faculty and staff. In a challenging year, these institutions demonstrated a world-class commitment to leveraging the collective strengths of their campus communities to navigate crisis and uncertainty. Celebration may still feel surreal as the effects of COVID-19 linger on, and fresh incidents of racial inequity and injustice are a stark reminder of the work left to do. The next steps in education, while daunting, will define a new era. Even though things will look new and different from what we've experienced in the past, the growth mindset of these leading institutions is a reminder of what's possible when leaders persist in building formative experiences that make thriving a way of life for students. | | | |
