Church and baseball game pictures were all we had for this year's card 😉
Our family Christmas came and went the day after school let out for Christmas break. It has become somewhat of a tradition for us to open the kids' Love Bazaar gifts for us (they shop at school) and give them our gifts the first morning of Christmas break.
I'm often asked what we get our kids for Christmas, and since the surprises are out, I figure I can share.
We don't do stockings or Santa gifts. We also don't do gifts for cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, or anyone outside our immediate family and grandparents.
And... we buy used gifts! Obviously, a few of the gifts were new (the toothbrush 😂), but the majority were purchased via FB Marketplace or found at our local thrift store for a fraction of the new price. I should clarify that the gifts I purchased were exactly what our kids asked for (I'm not that frugal!)
I realize every family has different gift-giving traditions, but I wanted to share what we do in case you feel bad buying used gifts, feel pressured to spend more than you can afford, feel the need to give gifts to every person in your life, or feel obligated to buy extra clutter to fill stockings.
If you want to do it, go ahead and do it. If you don't, just tell your family, "This is what Andrea Dekker does." They can blame me if they are upset!
