This is the week of Christmas Programs -- school, church, band, choir -- all packed into 6 days (or should I say nights). Whew!
If I made a list of things our family does not love, a few of the list toppers would be:
- Being out late multiple nights in one week.
- Navigating congested parking lots.
- Finding seats in crowded auditoriums.
The concerts and programs were great (at least the ones we've been to so far), and it's fun to see all the hard work our kids have put in, but I will continue to not-so-subtly vote for January programs when we don't have so many other things on our calendars. Who's with me?
Whether you love a good Christmas program or you're a little "Scrooge-ish" like me, I hope you have a few moments to enjoy this week's email, try my yummy fudge recipe, listen to the Christmas hymns playlist, and make a bit more progress toward simplifying your home and life during this very full time of year.
Bah! Humbug! Merry Christmas! 😉
simple food. 'Tis the season for something sweet! This easy 4-layer fudge is the perfect treat for gifting, snacking, or adding a festive touch to your dessert table. With rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, fluffy marshmallow, and gooey caramel, it's pure holiday magic, one delicious layer at a time!
organized home. Cozy Clean is my way of describing a home that feels peaceful, clean, inviting, yet still livable. If that's the feeling you want for YOUR home this holiday season, I've got 10 tips to help you quickly create your own cozy clean home!
intentional living. One of the best gifts we can give our children is to help them feel understood. I wrote this post many years ago -- deep in the trenches of sleepless nights and toddler meltdowns, but the advice holds true for teens and tweens too!
In other news...
Christmas Playlist: If you capitalized on the 4 free months of Spotify I shared in last week's email and you love instrumental Christmas music, you'll want to save this amazing playlist to your Spotify account right now. It's almost 4 straight hours of beautiful Christmas hymns played on the piano and other instruments.
Christmas Craft: I don't know who to give credit to for this idea (it's not mine), but I recently came across this image when searching for DIY ornaments. What a cute idea to print off tiny family pictures every year and make them into ornaments with some festive fabric and tiny wooden embroidery hoops. You could write or embroider the year on it too.
Christmastime Birthdays: Our family has several birthdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas... and this guy celebrated #44 over the weekend. As is tradition, I made him a chocolatey + peanut buttery treat -- this amazing Cheesecake (I highly recommend it 👍🏻)
Christmas Gifts (Clutter-Free): Once again, here's my giant list of Clutter-Free Gifts for all ages. Skip the mug and silly socks and go for a clutter-free option instead.
