I'm always very bundled up (I dislike being cold), and the kids think we need to get a sweater for Buster... I feel like he'll just pee on it, and it will be one more thing I need to wash. 🐕🦺
As we head into the holiday season (just over a week until Thanksgiving), I want to mention that although I DO think there are many ways to simplify and streamline your holiday foods, decor, events, and activities, I do not think a busy holiday season means you're necessarily doing something wrong.
Maybe you're packing in all the fun things this year because your kids/grandkids are finally old enough, or because special relatives/friends will be in town. Or maybe you're trying to squeeze a family vacation in between band concerts, church events, and family parties.
It's busy, but it's "good busy".
During the holidays, "busy" does not necessarily equal "bad", unless you're mindlessly agreeing to every opportunity that comes your way without considering the consequences or how the schedule will affect your family.
So yes, look for ways to simplify, streamline, and slow down. And yes, consider your schedule and your sanity. But don't get too stressed out if your life feels a little (or a lot) crazier these next few weeks -- it's sort of par for the course (especially with lots of children and grandchildren in the mix
Enjoy all the things you want to enjoy this holiday season, and simplify (or cut out) the rest!
