Last month, I replaced the battery on my four year old iPhone 13 mini. It cost $89. I also shelled out for a new OEM leather case, purchased for $30 on eBay because Apple doesn't sell them anymore. Total cost for the battery and case was about $130 after taxes. The title kind of gives it away, but the difference since upgrading the battery has been night-and-day. Before replacement, my battery health (according to the data on the iPhone itself) was about 75 percent. It would almost never last the whole day if I used it in any capacity. If I did anything battery intensive (like playing MTG Arena or watch a lot of YouTube), it would run out of battery before dinner. After the replacement, it still has anywhere from 50 percent to 70 percent of its charge left by dinner time with moderate use. If I play a lot of games or whatever, its closer to 25 percent by the end of the day. And everything on the device is just snappier. Apps load faster. There's less lag. Ad-heavy websites are still clunky, but I suspect that has more to do with poorly written JavaScript than the device. If you have an older phone that's otherwise in good condition, the battery upgrade is money well spent, in my opinion! I get to keep the phone I love, it works great, and I saved around $900 if I were to have purchased a comparable new phone. I figure I can get at least two more years out of this one now. Like this?
