Not content with being just another DeFi project, it seems that World Liberty Financial also wants a piece of the action.
According to on-chain data, wallets connected to the Trump family-backed platform had acquired a significant amount of tokens of major DeFi projects such as Aave and Chainlink.
Just yesterday, the protocol purchased $10M worth of ETH, in addition to $1M each of AAVE and LINK.
Earlier today, the project bought another $1M of LINK and another $250K of AAVE.
Unsurprisingly, World Liberty Financial plans to utilize Chainlink's services for better integration within the wider crypto ecosystem.
Over on the Aave governance forums, the protocol has also proposed the deployment of a World Liberty Financial Aave V3 instance on Ethereum.
Since these transactions were circulated throughout the crypto community, the prices of AAVE and LINK have risen by 23.3% and 20.3%, respectively.
Editor's Note: While there's no definite reason yet as to why these 2 tokens were chosen in particular out of the many hundreds of DeFi assets out there, most crypto users are speculating that these tokens would stand to benefit the most once Trump is inaugurated.
