Earlier today, the price of Bitcoin finally broke past $100K, achieving a new all-time high of $103.7K.
Just after the current chairman of the Fed, Jerome Powell, acknowledged Bitcoin as a digital form of gold, the price of BTC started its ascent from $96.7K to $99K.
However, Bitcoin remained steady at that level for a few more hours before finally achieving the historical milestone.
According to CoinGlass, Bitcoin's daily open interest on CEXs has reached a new record of $65B, nearly double the figure achieved earlier in March this year.
Other major cryptocurrencies and altcoins soon followed in Bitcoin's footsteps, as the price of Ether rose to a daily high of $3,920.
During this time, in pure comedic (or tragic) fashion, the now-defunct crypto exchange Mt.Gox began moving funds from its cold wallets, transferring around 24K BTC (~$2.4B).
