| | FTA today released videos highlighting changes to the Urbanized Areas Formula Grants Programs Guidance Circular, part of a series of training videos for recipients and stakeholders as part of the recent publication of newly revised program guidance and award management requirements. Each Friday from October 18 through November 15, 2024, FTA is posting videos summarizing grants management information and highlighting the requirements outlined in each of the revised circulars. We encourage grant recipients who administer FTA-funded projects to watch the videos as they are released. Urbanized Areas Formula Grants Programs Guidance (Circular 9050) is the third video series and is designed to provide a better understanding of changes made to FTA's official guidance for recipients' use of formula funds apportioned to Urbanized Areas [Sections 5307, 5337, and 5339(a)]. This video introduces Circular 9050 and provides a high-level overview of changes, programs covered by the circular and their relationship to other FTA programs, and how program funds are made available. This video discusses eligible recipients, planning requirements and program of projects, transit asset management and safety requirements, fares charged to seniors and individuals with disabilities, and pre-award authority. This video provides an overview of Federal and local share for projects, intermodal eligibility of apportioned funds, eligible expenses, and eligibility of use of funds outside the apportioned UZA.
