FTA Releases Videos Highlighting Rural Areas Formula Grant Programs Guidance

FTA today released videos highlighting changes to the Rural Areas Formula Grant Programs Guidance (Circular 9040), part of a series of training videos for recipients and stakeholders as part of the recent publication of newly revised program guidance.

Each Friday from October 18 through November 15, 2024, FTA is posting videos summarizing grants management information and highlighting the requirements outlined in each of the revised circulars. We encourage grant recipients who administer FTA-funded projects to watch the videos as they are released.

Rural Areas Formula Grants Programs Guidance (Circular 9040) is the fourth video series and is designed to provide recipients and stakeholders with a better understanding of changes made to FTA's official guidance for recipient's use of formula funds apportioned to the Rural Areas Formula Program (Section 5311).

This video introduces Circular 9040 and provides a high-level overview of changes, programs covered by the circular and their relationship to other FTA programs.

This video covers the development and management of FTA's rural programs in more detail, discussing State Management Plans, intercity bus, the Rural Transportation Assistance Program, Public Transportation on Indian Reservations, and flexible funding.
