According to a proposal from ZkSync, Treasure could potentially launch its own Layer-2 using the ZK stack, as opposed to Arbitrum Orbit.
Should the proposal be accepted by the Treasure community, then the Treasure Chain's current testnet will be migrated from Arbitrum to a new ZK testnet before the expected launch of the mainnet sometime in November this year.
Additionally, the successful launch of the Treasure L2 in the ZkSync ecosystem will entail a token swap of ZK tokens in exchange for Treasure's native MAGIC token.
According to Karel Vuong, the co-founder of Treasure, ZkSync's technology would better facilitate the project's goal of scaling its gaming ecosystem to support mass adoption.
The migration plan, outlined as TIP-44, will be open to voting from MAGIC holders starting from September 17.
Since the news, the price of MAGIC has risen by 3% from $0.344 to $0.354 today. Editor's Note: It's not easy for projects to decide to leave an ecosystem they've built on for the past two years. From a technical perspective, considering the vast array of titles under its belt, smoothly transitioning its games and users to the ZK stack will be a massive undertaking. Unlike their previous title, Eve Frontier will feature a unique blockchain integration that allows users to create player-owned economies by launching their own crypto tokens.
Players can then use these tokens to exchange them for in-game assets or real-world commodities.
Besides that, players can create their own in-game zones with specific rules that dictate which types of tokens can be accepted as payment for services.
