Well, the SEC seems to think so after the NFT marketplace OpenSea said that it is expecting a lawsuit regarding the matter.
According to OpenSea's co-founder, Devin Finzer, the marketplace has received a Wells Notice from the Commission, with threats to sue the marketplace for deeming NFTs as securities.
If the lawsuit against OpenSea materializes, it remains to be seen which NFT collections the SEC will target and name.
However, some lawyers and crypto-based law experts have argued that the NFT market is largely similar to the art and collectibles market, which has remained unregulated by the SEC until now.
Popular crypto influencer Adam Cochran even added that OpenSea could easily fight back against the SEC, with the option of forcing the SEC to pull in the likes of Disney and Amazon or to halt their investigation altogether.

According to the launch announcement by the Kaia DLT Foundation, the chain will have transaction speeds of 1 second and extremely low gas fees.

Aw Dang It. The Cabal team airdropped their memecoin to 10 crypto influencers, hoping to generate bullish support. Instead, the token's price crashed after 7 out of the 10 influencers sold their holdings.
Defeated By Dogs Again. Telegram's TON blockchain experienced a second outage shortly after yesterday's outage. The network went down due to the launch of the DOGS token, which was airdropped to over 10 million users. The surge in airdrop claims led to the network crash.
Struggles at Crypto Friendly Brave Browser. Brave browser, known for its Basic Attention Token (BAT), has laid off another 15% of its workforce in a second round of layoffs. BAT is currently down 91% from it's all-time high in 2021.
