[Go Make Things] Getting shit done with ADHD

You may already know that I have a side project, ADHD ftw!, where I help developers with ADHD thrive.

I'm wrapping up production on a new course, Getting Shit Done with ADHD, and I wanted to let you know about it.

If you don't have ADHD, feel free to ignore today's article and get back to your day. No hard feelings!

But if you do, and you didn't know about this project, I wanted to tell you a bit more about it. Let's dig in!

Getting things done with ADHD is hard!

If you have ADHD, these struggles probably sound familiar…

  • You have stuff to do, but getting started feels impossible.
  • You spend hours staring at a screen, but don't actually get anything done.
  • Big projects feel impossibly large and overwhelming.
  • You've got a task that would take just 15 minutes to do, but you've been putting it off for weeks (or months, or years).
  • Boring tasks are physically painful… so you never do them.
  • You put off important stuff until the last minute, then rush to get it done on time.
  • You forget important things you were supposed to get done.
  • You're late to meetings, or miss them entirely.
  • You have a todo list a mile long, but never feel like you're making any progress.

Traditional productivity advice doesn't work for people with ADHD.

Stuff like "pick your biggest task first" and "use context tags for all of the different things" and "review your tasks every day, week, quarter and year"… that's just not happening.

Offices are generally setup around how neurotypical folks do their best work. They're awful for folks with ADHD.

Mid-day meetings, Slack notifications, standups, two-week sprints… they're productivity killers.

Getting Shit Done is a productivity system built specifically for (and by) people with ADHD!

This course is built on three core principles…

  1. Most productivity advice isn't made for us.
  2. Work with your ADHD, not against it.
  3. Don't obsess over the "system" to the detriment of the work.

It's split up into two main sections…

  1. Getting Shit Done, my simple, ADHD-friendly system for getting shit done.
  2. Hacking your brain's OS, a bunch of tips and tricks for helping you work with your ADHD instead of fighting against it.

I'll show you how to take full advantage of your ADHD to get shit done, and what to do on those days where your brain just doesn't want to cooperate.

Are you ready to feel more productive, more accomplished, and more in-control of your work and life?
