As we've slowly updated our landscape over the last 10 years, we've intentionally added a variety of perennials so there are new flowers blooming each week... and this week, ALL our hydrangea's burst open!
It's work to maintain... but we (mostly) enjoy it, and it sure is pretty!!

A friend gave me a big bag of pickling cucumbers so I quickly made a double batch of the kids' favorite refrigerator dill pickles in about 30 minutes. I'm told these pickles are "the best" (and they are super easy!)

Most of us aren't financial experts... but we can still teach our children SO many wise life lessons that will set them up for success later in life. I enjoyed re-reading the 5 financial lessons I want to teach my kids, and am now extra motivated to keep encouraging them to be smart with their finances while they are young!
We took a day trip to Lake Michigan last week -- it was gorgeous but very windy and the water was very cold.
We still enjoyed our low-key, lazy day of sun, sand, and gigantic bowls of frozen yogurt!
An Easy Summer Lunch Idea:
After 8 weeks of summer, I'm getting tired of making 3 meals a day + snacks. 😜
Lunch can be particularly frustrating for me as we often do leftovers or sandwiches, which the kids get "bored" with. So about once a week, I put a bunch of random foods on a try and let them chow down on the picnic table outside while Dave and I eat inside.
It's super quick and easy to whip up, and it's a great way to clean out the fridge and pantry. The kids get excited about it and Dave and I enjoy a meal to ourselves!
