I recently listened to a financial "guru" discuss the importance of making more than you spend -- yup, I'm on board with that.
However, they came at it from the point of view that you can spend as much as you want on whatever you want, as long as you're willing to work longer hours to pay for your higher expenses.
Now, I'm not a financial guru, but I'd like to offer a different perspective on the same concept... what if you simply commit to spending less than you make?
It might not be as glamorous, but it probably won't be as stressful either.
It's the same idea (income > spending) but two opposite approaches.
Simple Food.
I dislike wasted food... and I don't love grocery shopping, so I'm always looking for ways to preserve my food longer, requiring fewer trips to the store and saving money.
One of my favorite super simple tips is how I extend the life of lettuce and salad greens... perfect for all your spring salads!
Do you have an overwhelming project looming on your to-do list -- tackling a messy closet, washing your windows, or finally organizing and digitizing your old photos?
Remember, tiny progress is still progress... let me help you get started!
If laundry is something you dread... sit back and get comfortable because I wrote a novel of a post that should bring more peace and joy to your home (or at least your laundry room!) I'm sharing the laundry routine that works for our family, how to find the best routine for you, and a bunch of my favorite laundry tools and resources.
Baseball Boys -- After some debate, Dave and I signed the boys up for Little League this spring. (We said "yes" because they can be on the same team and there aren't any weekend commitments.) The boys have been practicing in our backyard for years and finally had their first game last night... my dad (father of all girls and lover of baseball) was in his glory watching his first grandsons play their first baseball game. ⚾️
Patriotic Porch -- I'm often asked about the flags on our front porch (they are one of my favorite things!) and it just so happens that I purchased new ones yesterday for a really great price. As of last night, they were just $28 for a 3-pack of 3'x5' bunting flags. Often, I've paid that price for one flag!
Awww -- I came across this picture over the weekend, and it was too cute not to share. A family of elephants sleeping (actually laying down, which I guess is rare) and protecting the baby in the middle.
