Total exit? πͺ Is Kevin Rose leaving the Web3 space for good? Over the weekend, the co-founder of PROOF and the Moonbirds NFT collection, liquidated over $1.2M worth of high-profile NFTs.
Among the NFTs sold were Fidenza #531 for 142 ETH (~$554K) and a unique piece titled 'When Airdrop?' by the artist XCOPY for 151.2 ETH (~$590K). Close to two weeks ago, Rose also burnt 2 ENS domains and transferred another 2 ENS NFTs to this wallet address, which contained just a Moonbirds NFT and a Proof Collective Pass. Rose's recent behavior has led many to believe that the man is done with crypto, so much so that several opportunists have tried offering some interesting ENS domains for the remaining NFTs he owns. However, despite the recent sales, Kevin Rose has denied that he is leaving crypto and is simply trimming down his collection to make room for more. And he might just be telling the truth, as some of his other valuable pieces, such as Murakami Flowers and Chromie Squiggles, have been transferred to a new wallet. Editor's Take: If selling NFTs could be misconstrued as 'exiting the space', then I'm sure that many of us would not be here now. But jokes aside, there's nothing wrong with taking a little profit to free up some capital for the current market. Besides, he's been holding on to them for nearly three years. |
