This spring break marks 2 years since I officially started the SLOW process of growing out my hair (after 13 years of wearing it super short).
Here's where I started...
And the pictures below show the difference between 2 months of growth and 2 years.
I can officially pull it all up into a ponytail, but it's not as long as I envisioned when I started the process.
Truthfully, I liked it short. I think it looks better on me, I got compliments on my short hair all the time, and it was SOOOO much easier to manage (my hair is curly and frizzy with weird cowlicks).
I sort of want to chop it all off again... but I've come so far that I don't see myself giving up quite yet!
Simple Food.
It's almost berry-picking season here in Michigan... which means lots of homemade jam! Jam is such an easy way to try canning (and it's so delicious). If you're leery of all the sugar, try my easy no-sugar jam recipe, made with just 1 cup of honey (versus 7 cups of sugar!)
If you're traveling for spring break (or if you have an on-the-go lifestyle) this quick tip from my sister is genius! In a few minutes, you can organize your over-the-counter meds and conveniently take them wherever you go.
It might sound silly and insignificant, but for the last 15+ years, I've been committed to never saying "We can't afford that". It has made a huge difference in my thoughts and even my outlook on life!
SIX... and a HALF: It was Clara's turn to celebrate her half birthday this week -- with half a chocolate cake and whipped cream frosting.
My baby is six and a half... long days, short years friends!
SIXTEEN teams left: The boys are still at it -- updating their brackets, comparing bracket "scores", planning their weekend viewing preferences, and hypothesizing which underdogs might create an upset (we were rooting for MSU last weekend).
Simon asked, "Why don't they play games all week long too?" I responded, "Because the moms need a break and the dads actually need to get something done". Dave thought I was funny! 🥰
SIXTIES Day: Nora had 60's day at school and wore one of my mom's old outfits. Yes, my mother and I have very different decluttering habits 🤪 and yes, once in a great while, it pays to be a "saver"!
