Transactional email open rates are much higher than marketing emails, meaning they have a lot of potential for building better customer relationships and increasing conversions—so why not make the most of it?

In addition to oiling the cogs behind the scenes, these are the latest MailerSend updates since our last newsletter:

Simple Personalization soon to be deprecated: From July 1st, Simple Personalization variables will no longer be supported. Advanced personalization will need to be used to customize and personalize your email content for each recipient. Learn how to use Advanced Personalization here. If you're using Simple Personalization on your emails, remember to switch!
Support for TLS v1.0 & v1.1 soon to be deprecated: Our SMTP relay currently supports deprecated versions of the TLS protocol—v1.0 and v1.1—but this is set to change. We're planning to deprecate SMTP support for these versions in June 2024 and from then on will only support versions 1.2 and above. To keep your email as secure as possible and to continue sending emails with the SMTP relay without disturbance, we highly recommend that you migrate to a higher version of TLS before June 3rd.

Checking your account security

Data privacy and security are paramount at MailerSend. We are vigilant about keeping your information secure, and we will continue to go above and beyond when it comes to protecting our customers' information.

One way we do that is by asking our customers to keep their account information secure by following password best practices and occasionally conducting an email address check.

Secure your email address and password, and follow the recommended steps you can take to protect your accounts:

Visit Have I Been Pwned, and enter your email address to run a free security scan
If you find your email or password compromised, change the password on MailerSend and other accounts using the email address. Consider using a password manager to generate and save secure, unique passwords for each account.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for an extra layer of protection on any account where it's available.
